technology and free education. Has anyone got some free educational tools and resources that they would like to share with me. I have a project in mind where cheap pc's (raspberry pi etc) could be stocked with science and education material and distributed to people who need it for free, schools etc in third world. this would enable non internet available areas to gain access to some info not afforded them like photos from mars, maths books etc. the revolution is not about burning the system down but simply side stepping the traps of the modern era. thanks for your time. any feedback is welcome.

look I have terabytes of data collected of the years both public domain and copyrighted spanning mostly on any subject of human affairs art, science, visual, reading lists, etc (millions of books and images... I could certainly help with data and it s organization skills however can ditch cash as I m broke and unemployed..

thats fantastic. I had a hdd failure and lost most of my data about 6 months ago. no money necessary as I am self founding to start off with. the computers cost 50 Australian dollars each and I will buy in buik. the main part is finding the info and finding reliable and needy places to send the computers and info too. the pi's are Linux and android based and also help the children or people on the other end learn programming, and hardware and can even be helped to make all sorts of things. thankyou very much.

the idea is simply to give tech and access to information to the areas in need. and the full circle project is a great way to do this. I for one see the biggest obstacle to a an awakening as the control of information and indeed patent trolling by the corporations as a major hurdle and the unbinding of the control of information as the way forward. thankyou

when you are ready to start just let me know, I can narrow categories for art, survival skills like gardening and how toos various recipes and build instructions, but even literature and etc. I guess I could narrow to hundred or so gigabytes needed for someone start into education. I will gladly copycat collection for you if you want to run it trough yourself or give you presentation of my info vault over teamviewer or similar apps, I can either send you hard copy if you provide medium and cover expenses, or can seed private torrent, so let me know how it would fit you the most

Im still saving funds but I have an excellent internet fibre optic connection. im still working on the cheapest ways to get this to the people who would use it. power is needed on site so I would also be looking at cheap generator setups and battery packs s well as solar battery chargers. although the person on the other had power and an old tv (pi's have old rca adaptors as well as hdmi.) that would help. hopefully someone else can help connect with schools or groups in needy communities in which case I could have a ten pack of these ready in a fortnight. the machines also take usb wifi so we could send some usb's full of tech and even movies books games etc. I use the internet daily. ur interest has cheered me up no end. I hope we can have it up and moving within a few months.

no worries, count on me for initial data packs when you are ready, would need perhaps day or two to organize most needed info for such information scheme but will gladly do it. then you can pull it from me via private torrent I guess. Internet is not so good here but I guess it will suffice private leech within few days or so. just keep me informed for about two weeks in front of building it so I can both organize and deliver data in timely manner

that is excellent maks. my main worry would be I need to find a trustworthy person in need on the other end. I am also considering cheap ebook readers and other tech to supplement the learning experience. will keep u informed.

understand all too well, humanitarian aid that end on market sold for profit, I live in country where corruption is all time high so I have seen all kinds of misuse and abuse, I guess only way doing it to be certain is doing it yourself, getting to know people you aid with your projects

there should be a web site to put forward the information essentials..much hould be illustrated by simple formats that dont chew up gigs..i wrote a book of life once..with much the same thing ..survival tips ..pre the computer age ..but compuer is gone and lost the diskets..the kindles sound a good format..they can hold 100.s of books..[with everything to the tips of using English ..to learning to read English..need a dictionary too or hot links to explain the big words or the key steps..then there is charging say a SOLar panel..ear phones or a local network capacity where they can network outwards..the best recipient would be via mothers or grandmothers ..it might be worth contacting the trews start coin they have grants programs for these sport of things..and china can make them,,and upload them ready to go..straight from the slavefactories....anyhow a good idea we should form a circle on the topics..do the searches here and sort it out..we should be able to get ipad type kindles well under 100 each..then as previous reply advise find a distibuter we can trust..that alone could be another circle start-up..nominate a village ..or a tribe or a nation ..nominate trusted persons..they don't even need be new ipads..[kindle type readers..seems the bet format]..no need for typing programs etc ..or communication facility but would be advantage..maybe even an upload ability and reward system for sharing ..recording would be nice..and a feedback mechanism..lots of possibility but govts wont buy into it..maybe shops..or distributors of coke will buy into it..I remember many of us got interested in knowing stuff

the ebook readers for under a hundred is a great idea. I use android. epub and mobi collections and pdf would be preffered. once the units are sent a cheap usb upgrade and possibly some solar rechargers at a central location. thanks for the interest. ive been procrastinating on this idea for a long time.

I have a friend I can connect you with from Sierra Leone that ships things across on a regular basis with electronic goods and the like. That way you can distribute direct to the villages and then it can spread out from there. In regards to the educational material well that can be arranged, have you thought about starting your own NGO?

[Correction] In regards to the educational material well that can be arranged, have you thought about starting your own NGO? [ I meant] Are you looking for an educational provider? or just putting free educational documentation on the pi's?

thanks for the reply. NGO's would be good but I have no idea on setting one up. the connection in Sierra Leone is perfect. The idea is simply to connect those outside of the net with info and tools to help them with their own self education tools. it could be expanded to other technologys for agriculture etc through some fundraising. its two am in the morning so I will be sleeping soon. if more people are interested in helping with the project I may have to put together a organized plan for the idea. any help is gratefully accepted.
